Applications: Automotive

Filled and Non-Filled Systems

We have MACT compliant, fillable and non-filled resin systems for automotive applications such as truck wind deflectors and skirts, bumper beams, headlamp housings, sun shades, Class A panels and step assists.

Our CoREZYN® COR54 Series DCPD filled resins are a cost-effective choice that give good surface quality and retain their structural integrity at moderate temperature exposure (180 - 200°F/82 - 93°C). This product family is slightly stiffer and not quite as strong as our non-filled resins.

The CoREZYN COR61 Series is a non-filled DCPD system. This product line has the same performance characteristics as the filled system and is slightly more durable.

Our laminating resins are used in the manufacture of racing car bodies, truck components and panels, as well as repair materials. We can also supply "stain-free" or "tack-free" repair compound resins.

The Thermoset Resins Division has resins for SMC, BMC, RTM and wet molding techniques often used to manufacture automotive parts such as valve covers, headlamp housings, and body panels.

Vinyl Esters
Select from the CoREZYN VE8121LH Series of MACT-compliant products for lightweight finished parts that have increased strength, toughness, high temperature capabilities of 220°F/104°C, and good corrosion resistance.

Our VE8151LH Series is also MACT-compliant and is an excellent choice if you need higher temperature capabilities of up to 280°F/138°C.

We also have a complete selection of modified vinyl esters. Choose from the MVR8031LH Series (low HAP) and MVR8011 for a superior surface appearance. They offer cost effective answers to your design opportunities.

Isophthalics
The CoREZYN COR75 Series isophthalic resins perform well in high temperatures, have good fatigue performance, are stronger, and more corrosion resistant than polyester resins, and are more cost effective than a vinyl ester. Our isophthalics are excellent choices for parts that are exposed to road salt and sand, engine fluids, heat, and weather.

Gel Coats
The Gel Coat and Colorant Group manufactures a complete line of isophthalic, iso/NPG®, low VOC, vinyl ester and general purpose gel coats. These systems are available in any color, to protect and beautify your finished automotive parts. Many of these gel coat systems are CSA-approved, and approvable under FDA/USDA regulations.

You can select from a complete range of CoREZYN sanding primer gel coats. They are widely used in the manufacture of camper shells and automotive aftermarket parts.

Putty Resins
CoREZYN putty resins (COR04 Series) are compounded from an array of polymers to meet specific requirements. They can be formulated into products that form contours to reinforce FRP parts and products used for inter-laminate bonding. Putties manufactured from our products offer excellent adhesion and shear strength.

We also have a line of resins used to make general putties (COR01 Series) and patch kits (COR02 Series) and automotive repair putties. These resins give putties longer shelf life, high filler loading capabilities and improved sandability.

Putty/Adhesives
The Gel Coat and Colorant Group manufactures a complete line of polyester and vinyl ester putties and adhesives that can be used in bonding and fairing applications.  These products provide excellent adhesion and shear strength properties.
