CoREZYN® Resins
Isophthalics
Premium-grade CoREZYN isophthalic resins are formulated specifically for high corrosion resistance and excellent physical properties. This versatile line is an outstanding performer for tooling and moldmaking, filament winding, steel tank overwrap, spray-up/lay-up and cured-in-place pipe applications.
Interplastic offers COR75-AQ-460, a MACT-compliant, corrosion resistant resin. This product is a recognized component for Underwriter Laboratories, Inc. UL 1746 External Corrosion Protection Systems for Steel Underground Storage Tanks and for UL 1316 Glass Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Underground Storage Tanks for Petroleum Products. This resin has been tested by UL and is approved for storing alcohol and gasoline/alcohol blends in these applications.
The COR75 Series demonstrates good acid resistance, moderate solvent resistance, good temperature resistance, and high strength. It is generally chosen for mild to medium corrosive applications.
The COR71 Series is an excellent tooling resin.
The COR72 Series is formulated specifically for Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) applications.
Vinyl Esters
Interplastic Corporation’s epoxy-based vinyl ester resins were introduced in 1972. In extremely challenging environments that require superior physical performance and corrosion resistance, Interplastic CoREZYN vinyl esters are consistently outstanding performers.
The CoREZYN VE8300 is a line of bisphenol-A epichlorohydrin epoxy-based vinyl ester products. They are the workhorses of the product line and they are the most versatile. They provide excellent resistance to acid, alkalies, and oxidizing chemicals. VE8300s also have excellent high temperature capabilities and good solvent resistance. They are offered in different styrene contents and molecular weights, including the VE8360, a low VOC formula that contains less than 35% VOC/HAP.
We have many vinyl esters with unique performance qualities for applications such as marine (VE8110 and VE8121LH Series), tooling (VE8150 and VE8151LH Series), flexible resins (VE8500 Series), high crosslink corrosion resistance (8710 and VE8770 Series), Novolac (VE8730 Series), and molding (VE8900 Series). We have modified vinyl ester resins as well.
Surface Coats and Gel Coats
We also offer a variety of isophthalic, iso/NPG®, and vinyl ester pigmented gel coats that are used as the protective coating on many vessels in corrosive environments, including chemical scrubbers, tanks and containment vessels.
Colorants
We also manufacture a broad selection of heavy metal-free colorants in a wide range of colors to pigment a variety of corrosion resistant products.
