Process: Filament Winding

Resins
Fiberglass pipe, tanks, scrubbers, ducting and structural shapes manufactured  with Interplastic resins have provided years of trouble-free service in the chemical process, mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and pollution control applications.

CoREZYN® and Silmar® isophthalic resins for filament winding applications include formulations for ambient or high temperature cure, with or without thixotropic properties. The COR26 Series isophthalic is a good choice for filament winding.

You can also select our CoREZYN COR27 Series if you have lower temperature or less stringent corrosion requirements.

Vinyl esters exhibit similar strength characteristics to epoxy, but are less expensive and much easier to handle. All of our CoREZYN brand vinyl esters possess exceptional corrosion resistance and good glass wetting capabilities to achieve high physical properties in the composite. Typically, vinyl esters perform better than other types of unsaturated polyester thermoset resins in terms of physical strength, elongation, durability, and corrosion resistance. Our VE8301 Series demonstrates these capabilities very well in a filament winding application.

Colorants
The Gel Coat and Colorant Group manufactures the C Series polyester-compatible, heavy metal-free colorants that are used to pigment a variety of filament wound products.
